The price your school is quoting is insanely high.   I paid less than that and I  have an entire house full of furniture and appliances.

For what you have, you should be looking at easily under 100 bucks and probably even under 50. You didn't say what part of town you are in, but one of your best options is to use one of the minivans that act as taxis for supermarket chains such as Megamart and Homeplus. They moved a sofa for me and  I don't think I paid more than 30 bucks. The card I have has a central contact number of 644 1717 and the drivers personal number is 011 876 9983. Name of the firm is 짐엑스 Zim Express. Not sure if it's the same guy who moved my sofa, but they all do the same thing.

If you don't have any of those guys near you, you just want to get one of those blue Bongo/Porter trucks that you see everywhere. Unfortunately I don't have any numbers for one of those at the moment.

i have a 3 bedroom place and it cost us 500 to move-and they do all the packing and unpacking. back in the day when i had similar to you, it cost around 80 bucks-max. my first 2 room place was 100 and that was with 2 moviers. you hire peeps with those blue trucks that are always whipping around the streets. 300??? your school does not respect you all that much i am afraid. they are purposely trying to rip you off 100%. it really should be less than a 100 for what you are talking about. of course, you should have added where you are moving to. if seoul from busan. maybe?

I have used this guy twice.  Once when moving my girlfriend out of a one room.  5 pieces of furniture and about a dozen boxes (50,000)w.  And another time moving a three bedroom with two trucks, 3 helpers and a full half day of work.  That cost 300,000w.  Your school is actively trying to steal from you.  Tell them the average price for a Bongo truck in Busan ranges from 30,000-50,000w for a load and that you know what they are trying to do.

Here is the number for the guy 010 7177 3467.  His name is Bang Jin Hwan.  He doesn't speak any English so you will need to get a Korean person you trust to translate for you.  If you tell him you don't need any help with the moving and that you just need a driver he will probably charge (and you should ask for) 40,000.  If the drive is more than 30 minutes he will probably charge 50,000w

Good luck and be careful at your Hagwon.  They don't seem worthy of trust.

i sent this person an email saying i would help in getting a truck. nothing is worse than people who think just because you do not speak their language, you are an idiot and can easily be ripped off. i mentioned to hillyrob to make sure he tells his school he knows what they are doing. although, sadly, they would not blink an eye because they do not care but anyway...

Hi guys just wanted to say thanks to all of you who commented and gave me such good information.  I will follow up on the numbers and quote the new figure to my school.  I wouldn't mind but I am only moving one stop away from where I am now! Thanks again guys x
